Alternate Ending to Back to the Future

Slashfilm has shared some insight into what almost was – Instead of the BTTF finale taking place at the clock tower originally Marty was going to drive into an atomic bomb blast in the middle of the desert.  Yeah.

That’s so cool that somebody got this on film and posted it. Have you read the early draft of the script for part two? It featured Huey Lewis and the News holograms and was set in the 60’s where Marty’s parents were hippies. I really feel like they tried to use this atomic blast idea again too, or some variation of it, but I could be wrong. I’ll try and track it down.

This must have been further down the road once they took the DeLorean into consideration. As those earlier drafts had the refrigerator freezer and Marty had to drive it to the center of ground zero on the back of a pickup truck.
