I got my 360 repair just in time to tide me over the problems the PS3 were experiencing – but now Sony says service is restored! BTW Capcom is selling a number of their PSN titles for 50% off over the next few weeks. Last week was Marvel Vs Capcom 2, this week is Super Street Fighter 2 HD.
Here’s the sale schedule:
I have MVC2, SSF2THDR, SPF2THDR and Age of Booty on 360 – and I recommend them all. Prices this low I might re-buy a couple of them them for PS3.
Sony is saying not to turn on your “fat” PS3’s today. (SLim’s are ok?)

As you may be aware, some customers have been unable to connect to the PlayStation Network today. This problem affects the models other than the new slim PS3.
We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system.
Errors include:
* The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.
* When the user tries to sign-in to the PlayStation Network, the following message appears on the screen; “An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)”.
* When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; “Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game.”
* When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the Internet, the following message appears on the screen; “The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)”
* Users are not able to playback certain rental video downloaded from the PlayStation Store before the expiration date.We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.
As mentioned above, Please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
For the latest status on this situation please check either the PlayStation blog (blog.us.playstation.com) or PlayStation.com.”
I just had my Xbox sent out for repairs. I was the only one of my friends who hadn’t had to get their box fixed. It was one of the Limited Edition Halo ones too : (
Glad I saw this warning before I got home and fired up my PS3.

Despite the weather the New York City Comic Marketplace is still going on Saturday February 27th. I have a table so if you ever wanted to gawk at me for some reason this would be the time to do it. (seriously stop by otherwise I might start wondering around and buying up every discount DC Showcase book I can find. Try reading some Superman comics from the early 60’s – it’s like following a dream, as you are experiencing it it seems real/solid but when you are done and you examine it you are like WTF Superman just through that giant space monkey back in time*?
Oh! I’ll have a few original prints for sale too. More about those here on the blog soon…
The NYCBM is at the Penn Plaza Pavilion (410 7th Ave – at the corner of 33rd), so it’s right across from Penn Station/Madison Square Garden which means there are a lot of transportation options*. It opens at 10:30 AM and goes til 7 PM. Admission is $10. Lots of people selling comics, toys, movies and related stuff as well as a bunch of artists, writers and actors hanging out.
*this is an actual reference to an actual thing Superman did.

Next Saturday I’ll have a table in the artist alley at the New York Comic Book Marketplace. It’s at the Penn Plaza Pavilion (410 7th Ave – at the corner of 33rd), so it’s right across from Penn Station/Madison Square Garden which means there are a lot of transportation options*. It opens at 10:30 AM and goes til 7 PM. Admission is $10. Lots of people selling comics, toys, movies and related stuff as well as a bunch of artists, writers and actors hanging out.
If you are going you might tell anyone that asks what you are doing Saturday that you are going to the “New York City Comic Marketplace” and not the “NYCBM” because if you say “NYCBM” they might assume it’s some kind of big city poo contest. Get it? NYC “BM”? Well that why I make papertoys and not jokes.
See you there!
*Well, lot's of train options.
