“EXPRESS YOURSELF WITH ME-KI TIKI! Has this ever happened to you? You ask a friend if they want to join you for lunch and they jump down your throat complaining about how they’re too busy! Or maybe YOU’RE the one who’s really grumpy, or excited, or sick, or surprised… and you want people to KNOW IT before they approach you? Well, the MI-KI TIKI is like a MOOD BAROMETER! With its built-in “expressions cartridge” a ME-KI TIKI on your desk is ready to be instantly repositioned to match your feelings, anytime a new mood strikes! For a little while I posted what comic books I was picking up every week. I stopped doing it about 2 years ago as it wasn’t exactly related to what was going on with Cubeecraft. In case anyone is wondering the weekly books I am currently reading are: Ultimate Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Catwoman, the John Carter comics (Marvel and Dynamite), Adventure Time, Godzilla Legends, Aquaman, Justice League, Ghostbusters, and The Ultimates.
Anything I’m missing out on?
I received this e-mail this morning:
“Mr. Beaumont,
I am writing to you on behalf of the approximately 1600 students who have experienced cubeecraft over the last two years. Using the free templates you post online, the students have created paper sculptures incorporating the likes of pop culture and artists such as Picasso, Giacometti, Red Grooms, etc. Students in grades 1-5 study your work and the work of contributors to your site in an effort to create original pieces. Your work has allowed them to study sculpture, paper toys, and to tacitly experience it (on a budget) and to exhibit their work at our local Cherokee County Arts Expo. It is the only student centered way I have found to exhibit every child’s work (approximately 800 students). For that I am grateful. I am attaching a few photos of the students work and a Vimeo link to a short created by last years 3rd and 5th grade students.Again, on behalf of the students at Draytonville and Corinth Elementary Schools, thank you for your efforts and for allowing us to use the product of those efforts so graciously.
Sincerly,Eric Smalley
